What does a month-to-month contract mean?

A month-to-month contract allows you to use your PacketSky service without committing to a fixed contract term such as 12 or 24 months.

The agreement continues from one month to the next until it is cancelled in accordance with the applicable notice period.

How does a month-to-month service work?

Your PacketSky service renews automatically each month.

This means:

  • You are not locked into a fixed-term contract
  • The service continues until you submit a cancellation
  • Monthly service fees remain payable while the service is active
  • The required cancellation notice still applies
  • Any equipment or installation terms remain separate from the monthly service term

A month-to-month agreement gives you flexibility, but it is not a pay-as-you-go service.

Is month-to-month the same as pay-as-you-go?

No.

A pay-as-you-go service is generally purchased only when you decide to use it. A month-to-month fibre service remains active and available throughout the billing period.

The monthly service fee is therefore payable even when:

  • You do not use the connection
  • You are away from home
  • The property is temporarily unoccupied
  • You switch the router off
  • You use less data than usual

PacketSky and the Fibre Network Operator continue providing and reserving the service during that period.

How much notice must I give?

Generally, a calendar month’s notice applies to the cancellation of the service.

For example, if you want the service to end on 30 April, submit the cancellation before the end of March.

Cancelling during April will generally mean that the service and billing continue until the end of May.

Important: A calendar month is not the same as 30 days. The effective cancellation date depends on when the cancellation is received.

How do I cancel?

Submit your cancellation through the PacketSky Customer Portal.

Please include:

  • Your account details
  • The service address
  • The reason for cancellation
  • Your requested cancellation date
  • Any relevant information about moving or transferring the property

We will confirm receipt of the request and advise you of the effective cancellation date.

Are there ever additional charges?

Although the connectivity service may be month-to-month, separate charges may still apply in certain cases.

These could include:

  • Outstanding monthly fees
  • Installation or activation charges
  • Router or equipment charges
  • Unreturned equipment fees
  • Damage to supplied equipment

Your specific application, order and terms will determine whether any of these apply.

Can I temporarily pause the service?

A month-to-month service does not include the ability to pause billing.

Switching the router off or not using the connection does not suspend the service.
